Here are some places that will love up all the stuff you’re done with.
Freecycle
(freecycle.org)
The Freecycle Network™ is a grassroots, nonprofit movement of people who are giving (& getting) stuff for free in their own towns. Membership is free. To sign up, go to freecycle.org.
When you want to find a new home for something — whether it’s a chair, a fax machine, piano, or an old door — you simply send an e-mail offering it to members of the local Freecycle group.
The main rule: Everything posted must be free, legal, and appropriate for all ages.
Electronics
There’s a whole lot of places where you can “responsibly dispose” of your ancient (you know, anything over two years old) electronic stuff. Here are a few ideas. The net is full of others.
- All Green Waste Management
(allgreenwm.com) - Best Buy
(bestbuy.com)Check out their website. They have a Best Buy green program. They’ll take just about everything electronic and turn it into something else.
